The Dance
The brain is not a static process, it is a dyanamic interaction between a number of modules reacting to the music of the environment and adjusting to the individual’s history and motivation at the moment.
When the brain is damaged, for what ever reason–a penetrating wound, traumatic contact, stroke, teratogen, chemical, genetic compromise, chromosomal mix up, anoxia, disease, etc. –the dance does not stop, it changes. The new dance gives us an indication of the source of the problem. We can use that new dance to help us develop new strategies for intervention.
I hope, eventually, to have a page for the many different dances and disabilities: Autism, ADHD, Fragile X, Williams, Downs, et al.
